Leopard Speck... Wait, a Firewarrior!

Hello Folks,

As promised yesterday I have taken pictures of the Firewarrior I painted up in the colour scheme I am doing my own Tau Army. Even though my army is far from being started properly it is always good to know that when the time comes around I have a scheme to paint them up as. I didn't add any speckles to this guy but I might leave them off the armour and put them on the skin of the firewarrior. I might leave up to you guys. Leopard Speckled Kroot!?

Well it has been well over a month since my last post which was my commission Aun'Shi. Which was a pleasure to paint despite what you might think. So what have I been doing these past few weeks. Well quite a lot but not a lot if you catch my drift. I attempted the Vespids but realised I didn't have the GW colour, so I thought, "Let's mix it, how hard could it be..." trust me, it was difficult. So I dropped the Vespids for now and picked up on my Saga stuff and managed to get the models done for a warrior unit with the shields still WIP. I have just recently started on my clients Kroot so that you guys have something new to look at for that. But surely if I haven't painted any Kroot how come the title suggests I have? Well let's see, shall we?

School's Back and the Tau are still a rollin'!

Now if you are a regular to my Blog or have viewed earlier posts you will know of my struggle to get as much done before the school term hit, and boy did it hit hard! I have been getting a lot of homework which clogs up a lot of my free time. This blog may actually turn out to be a 'HELP WITH HOMEWORK' blog, only kidding... I have been painting a wee bit since I have been back at school and I have progressed a little with my Tau commission and I have done a test model for my Tau army for which I am re-painting. In this post I will put up my Tau Firewarrior and at some point over the coming month I will post the Pathfinders. Viewer, "Finally! You lazy sod, we have been waiting for those!" They will come but for now here is my new Tau Colour Scheme.

I will post up a story of my Tau and how they got their scheme. The new 6th Ed ally rule has played quite well into my hand. That won't happen until Christmas which will be my month to catch up with my figures. I would like your feedback on my scheme; does it work? what would you recommend instead of...? I will try and post again with in the next fortnight and the Pathfinders will take to the stage. But until then bye for now.

Climate changes the 'climatic' ending...

Sorry Folks but the weather has made it too hot to paint.... AGAIN!! I will try and do some to get these pesky Pathfinders off my desk. In the meantime though I will show off my Tau Ethereal. It is the Limited Edition one from 2001. I picked it up at a convention for £1! He does however have one of his staff pieces missing, but that doesn't matter to me because he still looks great:

I tested out a marble painted base, the tutorial supplied by James Wappel. It looks more like a wood piece from his home planet. That will fit in quite well with my story for my new Tau when I re-paint them. Bye for now.

Something to fill in the gaps - An insight into my Tau

Still powering through the Kroot today but haven't really done enough to post anything new from the commission. So I thought I might give you some insight into my Tau. This was a more muted colour scheme for Tau since I painted the majority of my army Black, Red and Grey. I did do a bit of a rush job on the rest of my army so I might do a before and after on them as I would like to paint them again to a slightly better standard. This Kroot Shaper took me a while to paint, I practised blending on the flesh and fabric. I did also try NMM but it failed so I re-painted over it with metallic silver. But what I will say is it will take me a long time before any of my Tau get re-painted so they'll ust have to stay as they are for now. Anyway onto the pictures:
